Restore Freedom of Movement & Resolve Chronic Pain & Injuries

Live Life to Its Fullest Capacity

About
The Lyno Academy

The core principle of the Lyno Method lies in conducting a comprehensive evaluation of fascia mobility throughout the entire body. This assessment allows us to pinpoint the precise locations where unresolved physical and emotional trauma have become trapped within the body. These restrictions within the fascia lead to entrapment and impairment of various structures within the affected area, such as muscles, tendons, joints, neural and vascular tissue, as well as visceral organs, resulting in persistent pain and repetitive injuries. By focusing on the parasympathetic nervous system, we enable the liberation of these limitations, effectively disrupting the cycle of chronic pain and repetitive injuries

Mobility Assessment

The From Test

The FROM TEST encompasses 50 different tests that evaluate the primary movements of all the major joints in the body. This examination is conducted at the start of every Lyno session and effectively guides us to the specific regions where fascial restrictions and unresolved trauma are housed within the body. We use the digital goniometer on the Lyno application to measure and all tests are done passively to focus on fascia and to exclude habitual compensation patterns.

Functional Assessment

The Bunkie Test

The BUNKIE TEST comprises of five distinct assessments designed to evaluate core functionality. This test is specifically employed in cases where optimal body performance is essential, such as with sports clients. By utilizing various plank positions, this test examines the four linear lines and provides insights into the impact of fascial restrictions on overall functionality. During the test, clients are instructed to maintain each position for a duration of 30 seconds. We promptly score each test upon detecting any deviations in form or if the client experiences any discomfort.

The Lyno App

Digital Scoring & Analysing Tool

The LYNO APP provides us with a digital goniometer to measure the FROM TEST and a timer to score the BUNKIE TEST. The scores are analysed with built-in algorithms and transformed into a treatment plan which guides the practitioner to the exact areas or patterns of fascia restriction. The Fascia Mobility Profile gives the client a clear indication of the extent of their immobility. The APP offers our practitioners a highly scientific and professional approach to therapy and the unidentifiable data provides an unlimited source for research.

The Technique

Facia Release

The LYNO technique employs targeted methods to address fascia restrictions caused by unresolved trauma, focusing on the parasympathetic nervous system. By utilizing light strokes over the skin or through a thin layer of clothing, accompanied by the client’s gentle breathing, focused attention, and active muscle movement in the specific area, we aim to enhance the tone of the Vagus nerve. This approach creates a pathway for the release of trapped trauma. By directing attention to these areas of trapped trauma, we guide the client through the process of self-regulation, facilitating the restoration of normal functional movement in previously limited areas.

Yellow Pages Wedges

Balancing The Body

The YELLOW PAGE WEDGE tool was originally developed in the 80’s by the late Dr Ron Holder, chiropractor and applied kinesiologist, to balance athletes who struggled with chronic injuries due to non-alignment. The method is based on the activation of the proprioceptors, the neuroceptors which informs the brain of the position of the body in relation to the centre of gravity. Fascia restrictions cause non-alignment of the body and dysfunctional movement. By using this technique, we manipulate the proprioceptors by placing thin paper wedges under specific parts of the feet to create alignment and balance. We use the technique only in the early stages of LYNO as it becomes unnecessary once the fascia restrictions disappear.

Resolve Your Clients’ Chronic Pain & Injuries And Guide Them Towards Ultimate Performance

The Lyno course is for Health, Wellness and Movement professionals whose aim is to provide their clients with a comprehensive solution to their longstanding pain and injuries as well as limitations in performance. We follow a holistic approach to find and resolve the cause, engaging with the autonomic nervous system to release restrictions in fascia mobility.

I have spent more on chiropractors and physios than I any sensible person would before they realise it is time to stop running, but anyone who knows me knows that stopping is simply not an option. I heard about Lynotherapy through a friend and after reading up about the Lyno Method, I was convinced that this is the answer. It still boggles my mind how a treatment method can be so minimally invasive yet so effective.

I use Lyno as part of my training regime to help with any pains, stiffness, and also prevent injury, allowing me to reach optimal levels of performance. I've learnt so much in the time that I've worked with Gabi and I truly am a better and more knowledgeable athlete (in training and recovering like a champ) because of her.

Gabi is great! And she will help anyone take the right steps towards achieving their goals.

I was introduced to Lynotherapy as a young professional cricketer more than twenty years ago following a near career-ending back injury during my tenure as a player for Boland. I am astonished by how the Lyno Method has evolved over the past few years. Holistically incorporating fascia release, mobility, and functional assessments to treat injuries. I was referred to Winsie Oosthuizen by Benita Kropman who after only two sessions, identified and effectively treated my chronic knee pain. Lynotherapy has once again helped me restore optimum mobility and a balanced functional body as effectively as it did to prolong my career all those years ago. I am still astounded by how well the body responds to Lynotherapy.

Due to my exposure to trauma and several injuries, I have been on a proactive search to find relief from chronic pain for the past couple of years. I am sincerely surprised and grateful that a non-invasive therapy such as Lyno improved my physical symptoms dramatically. Lyno gave me physical relief from chronic muscle pain; relief from pinched nerves; improvement in mobility and balance, and tools to address anxiety.

When it comes to assessment and the modality as a whole, Lyno is a step ahead of the industry. Benita has built a system of holistic assessment, including a digital goniometer and an analysing tool with built-in algorithms to generate a fascia mobility profile and treatment protocol.  Lyno puts a great emphasis on what is happening outside the session, all the way into the daily habits and incidents in life that form the physical as well as emotional trauma. Within 2 weeks, I have recovered from my hamstrings injury.  Not only have I got rid of the pain, we were also able to identify the root cause of the injury so as to prevent recurrence and achieve optimal performance.

I have always known with chronic injuries that you need to treat the cause, not the symptom. LYNO ® gave me the formula to solve this puzzle.
