Having completed an undergraduate degree in Sports Science at the University of Stellenbosch, Gabi then completed her honours degree in Biokinetics at the University of Port Elizabeth. She went on to complete her internship in Biokinetics at the Sports Science Institute of South Africa, and continued working there for a few years. Gabi then completed a year working in the UK before returning to South Africa to read for a Masters Degree in Sports Science at the University of Stellenbosch, where she received a distinction for her research into fall risk assessment and exercise intervention programmes for geriatric subjects.
Shortly after opening her first private biokinetics practice in 2010, she managed to connect with Benita Kropman – the founder of The Lyno Method – and was immediately captivated by this remarkable modality. She enrolled on one of the first Lyno courses Benita offered and has become a big proponent and advocate of the practice since.
Gabi has run a very successful Lyno practice in Claremont for the last 12 year, which has given her the opportunity to develop a passion for what she does. She loves working with a variety of clients, from young kids to members of the older generation, and from office workers to pro athletes. She was also involved in presenting the Lyno courses in Cape Town for a few years and thoroughly enjoyed the teaching and sharing of her experience with other like-minded individuals who were invested in helping people become pain free and reaching their full physical potential.
