Benita Bester (formerly Kropman)

Benita Bester (formerly Kropman), the founder of the Lyno Method, qualified as a physiotherapist in South Africa in 1982. She spent the first 14 years of her career focusing on sports injuries, gaining extensive experience with athletes and active individuals. By 1996, Benita realised that traditional physiotherapy training did not provide the tools needed to address chronic pain and recurring injuries. Even though she was able to relieve symptoms quickly, in many cases the symptoms reappeared as soon as the athletes returned to intense training.

This insight marked a turning point in her career and led to the development of the Lyno Method—a system designed to uncover the root causes of persistent pain and provide effective, lasting solutions. She created the Bunkie Test and the FROM Test, assessments that reveal where clients may be storing suppressed physical or emotional trauma in their connective tissue (fascia), which can contribute to chronic symptoms in other areas of the body.

Initially, her approach relied on deep manual techniques to release fascia restrictions. Over the years, Benita has evolved her method, shifting focus toward nervous system regulation, breathwork, precise gentle movement, and body awareness—supporting lasting balance and wellbeing without the need for intense manual pressure.

Benita began teaching the Lyno Method in 2010 through practical courses in South Africa and internationally, as well as online. She currently practices from her studio at the Dao House in Jumeirah, Dubai, where she focuses on supporting women through the physical challenges of menopause.

In addition, Benita is building a community initiative called Women of Wisdom (WOW), a support circle for women to connect, share knowledge, and hear from prominent speakers, all in the serene setting of the Dao House’s traditional tea ceremonies.

Contact Benita to join the WOW circle, offer your expertise as a speaker, or book a Lyno appointment to help you resolve chronic symptoms.

Strength in connection, power in wisdom.

When it comes to assessment and the modality as a whole, Lyno is a step ahead of the industry. Out of my over 100 physiotherapy/sports therapy visits, I am delighted to say that Lyno is the most developed therapy I have received so far. When it comes to assessment and the modality as a whole, Lyno is a step ahead of the industry. Benita has built a system of holistic assessment, including a digital goniometer and an analysing tool with built-in algorithms to generate a fascia mobility profile and treatment protocol. Lyno puts a great emphasis on what is happening outside the session, all the way into the daily habits and incidents in life that form the physical as well as emotional trauma. Within 2 weeks, I have recovered from my hamstrings injury. Not only have I got rid of the pain, we were also able to identify the root cause of the injury so as to prevent recurrence and achieve optimal performance.

I was introduced to The Lyno Method as a young professional cricketer more than twenty years ago following a near career-ending back injury during my tenure as a player for Boland. I am astonished by how the Lyno Method has evolved over the past few years. Holistically incorporating fascia release, mobility, and functional assessments to treat injuries. I was referred to Winsie Oosthuizen by Benita Kropman who after only two sessions, identified and effectively treated my chronic knee pain. Lyno has once again helped me restore optimum mobility and a balanced functional body as effectively as it did to prolong my career all those years ago. I am still astounded by how well the body responds to Lyno.
