Hanlea’s journey began in healthcare as an intensive care nurse after completing her B.Cur degree at the University of Pretoria in 2000. Wanting to help people regain movement and strength, she qualified as a physiotherapist at Wits University in 2006.
For the next 12 years, Hanlea worked in sports and orthopaedic physiotherapy in Pretoria. She ran practices at Eugene Marais Hospital and Intercare and spent three years as the team physiotherapist for the Naka Bulls Rugby Club.
After taking a career break to focus on her family, Hanlea returned to healthcare in 2026 with a fresh perspective. Years earlier, she had referred several clients for Lyno treatment and was fascinated by their results. They were moving more freely, overcoming long-standing problems and performing better in sport. She wanted to understand what had made such a difference, so she trained as a Lyno practitioner.
Today, Hanlea practises in Pretoria, helping clients move with greater freedom and reach their fitness goals more easily. She has a special interest in supporting people living with chronic pain, tension and feelings of overwhelm or hopelessness.
With her background in intensive care, physiotherapy and neuroregulation, Hanlea brings warmth, experience and a deep understanding of the body and brain to every session. Her greatest joy is seeing clients rediscover hope, confidence and enjoyment in movement—and in life.
